Chia Sen in Scarborough

I've been going to Chia Pet (our moniker) for years because it is reliably always good classic Chinese cuisine. Service is always also reliably good. The soups are good, love the hot and sour, and they have a brown rice option which is always cooked just right. Nothing bad to say about Chia Pet!

Best Chinese restaurant in the area I've eaten at in a long time. High quality ingredients, excellent presentation, lovely and relaxing atmosphere… Absolutely coming here again with my crew.

I’ve been coming to this restaurant for over 20 years. Their food is consistently good, service is amazing and more importantly, they do not use MSG

New favorite Chinese food restaurant in the area!! I can only speak to two dishes because it was my first time there , but the general tso chicken is NOT overly breaded which is a major complaint I have with other local restaurants. Crab rangoon was yummy too. I will definitely go back.

This Resturaunt is run by the sweetest family! We came by and they had our to go order ready in just a few minutes and then we took it home and it was delicious. We had the chicken lo mein and the proportion was great and tasty. Going again soon!

Everything food wise that we ordered tasted great... Look nice smelled nice.. only the amount you get was less than most Chinese restaurants.. so a bit pricey. Scorpion bowls were a bit shy on alcohol. So drink many for any effect.. clean place .. nice people.

Fresh and delicious. Not your typical Chinese takeout, definitely a few notches higher than you'd expect. Their lunch specials are a perfect size at a great price.

I'm sorry, but I wouldn't eat here asain, the beef tasted stale and over cooked. We got tiny chicken fingers and honestly the food was not work the 30 bucks I paid for it and unfortunately most ended up in the trash. I came here because I read the reviews of how this was the best Chinese food around. But I'm very disappointed in it.

Stopped in for lunch and from our friendly greeting to the amazing food, our server was on top of out needs. Everything was great.

If ur searching for great Chinese food in Maine, good luck. Chia Sen is decent and one of the better places in the area. Get the bottle of wine deal. Service is quick so you can devour and escape when you realize you ate your weight.

I hadn't been to Chia Sen in almost a decade, since I used to get take out from them all the time when I worked across the street. My girlfriend, who had heard me talk about them in glowing terms many times, took me there today for an early birthday dinner. The restaurant was clean and well appointed. The staff was very friendly and courteous. The food was GREAT and they are still the only place with a hot and sour soup that I like. Appetizers came fast but the main entrees did take a while... though not nearly long enough to reduce the score in any way from the full 5 star experience it was. I'm really glad that Chia Sen is still as amazing as I remembered, and though I rarely find myself in Scarborough anymore I will make a point to stop by more often.

Very nice looking restaurant but very disorganized, and VERY slow. I was seated for brunch and I did not get a waiter to my table for 15 minutes, then I ordered and I did not get my brunch for almost 1 hour. They seemed more concerned with the to go orders than anything else. I watched them process order after order at the door and I drank an entire pitcher of hot tea by myself waiting. The waiter came by twice to say the food was almost ready and then several more orders left the restaurant and no food for me. I finally got my food after one hour of waiting and I told them I wanted it to go. They gave me the order and they only gave me a very small container of rice for my meal? maybe 1/2 a cup of rice? And I paid full price even after I waited so long for my food. No one seemed to care at all except the waiter who was trying to get a tip from me.I will never go back to this place. I was very disappointed and hungry when I left.

Extremely accommodating for those who are gluten free and dairy free. The people are super nice and helpful, AND THE FOOD IS AMAZING!!! Seriously so flavorful, my mom and I just stopped in and we left extremely pleased. I highly recommend.

This place is awesome! Love how there food is presented. Food is incredible and was able to take a server's dog in with us. They were able to accommodate dog and made us fell very welcomed.

Food was really good and the service was as well. Everything came out quickly and was nice and hot when it made it to the table. Food protion size to price point is good. Mine was just a tad salty for my liking, but that is a personal preference. Over all worth a visit.

Great tasting food and every item on the menu is available in a vegetarian version. Large portions leave you full and asking for a doggy bag to take home leftovers. HEADS UP: kind of expensive. We only come here 2/3 times a year, but it is delicious. The soy chicken is my favorite flavor. Soy beef, soy shrimp and soy pork also available for vegetarian dishes.Recommend for special occasions or "date night." Dinner for two with two martinis will set you back $70 before tip.

I take my neighbor there once a month and she treats me sometimes so I order sides. I asked for something not on the menu and they said yes "no problem" and it was the best veggie egg foo young that I've had in a long time.... It was great

I love this place, by far one of the best in southern main. I love everything on their menu especially the crab rangoon and I don't even like seafood.

Absolutely the best vegan Chinese food I’ve had. The soy beef with broccoli and the sesemee soy chicken are amazing.

It was good. I had the pad Thai and a mai tai. Both were good but a touch too sweet for my taste.

This has been our favorite Chinese Take-Out Restaurant. But the last time we ordered Hot & Sour soup we got Egg Drop. Tonight we ordered Gen. Tao Chicken and it was severely over cooked. Had the consistency of beef jerky. Been disappointed lately. 😟

It’s easy to order online and pick it up. Food is amazing! So delicious. The lady running the front is amazing - very organized. My meal was wonderful and the Crab Rangoon’s were the best I’ve ever had!!

We have changed our "new regular" place for Chinese take-out again! I cannot believe the number of vegan options (for me), and the willingness of the chef and staff to satisfy us. I had the Mongolian "beef" which was recommended, and was not disappointed. Mouth watering delicious. My partner had the orange tofu "chic-n" and we split the garlic green beans. Mother of all that is holy, this was so delicious! Thank you for having options for us! The rest in our party ate the meat meals and they raved equally about the freshness and deliciousness. Wow!
